5 best FPS games coming in 2023
30 Dec 2022
Due to its immersive perspective and frequently action-packed gameplay, the first-person shooter (FPS) genre keeps growing. Many highly anticipated titles in the genre from various developers are scheduled for the 2023. There is much to anticipate, from new titles in well-known franchises to completely original games that expand the boundaries of creativity.
1) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Heart of Chornobyl, the first significant S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sequel in more than ten years from Ukrainian developer GSC Game World, has high goals. In an effort to survive, players will once more explore the post-apocalyptic environment of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Players must engage in FPS combat to repel the strange mutations and oddities that inhabit this harsh open world. In your search for potent artefacts, scour the environment for materials, maintain your inventory and weaponry, and confront terrible odds with other survivors.
2) Redfall
Redfall, a planned first-person shooter by Arkane Studios, departs significantly from the studio's previous work. Players must work together to defeat the vampire legions that have overrun the titular town. Both solo and cooperative play are options for finishing the game.
3) Atomic Heart
Another post-apocalyptic first-person shooter, Atomic Heart is part of Russian developer Mundfish's debut work. The game is set in 1955 in an alternate history Soviet Union where robots and other automatons have integrated themselves into everyday life. As these devices malfunction, things get out of hand, and players are forced to restore order.
4) I.G.I. Origins
As a prequel to the cult classic first-person shooter Project I.G.I. from the 2000s, Origins will go back to the tactical shooter roots of the series. Players assume the character of Michael King, who is employed by MI6 for clandestine operations to halt a global war, in this video game developed and released by Antimatter Games.
Players will need to carefully consider their strategy as they finish mission objectives because the game is set in a sandbox environment. They have two options: enter the fray with all guns blazing or take down enemies who are patrolling covertly.
5) Witchfire
Witchfire, created by The Astronauts, has drawn attention for its blend of FPS and dark fantasy settings inspired by Souls. The Witch of the Black Sea and her army of otherworldly henchmen must be pursued, and players will be outfitted with a range of weapons and magic. Rogue-lite components will also be included in the game. Another feature of the game is the fluid agility provided by in-game motions.
